Welcome to “Finding Adventist Truth”.  The name of the website reflects my journey into Seventh Day Adventism.

I’ve been a Reformed/Evangelical Christian for several decades.  During these years I’ve witnessed the deterioration and corruption of the churches.  It’s been heartbreaking to see the body of Christ in such a sad state as worldliness has infiltrated them, causing many of them to be caught up in sinful practices and, ultimately, apostasy.   But towards the end of 2025, after some email discussions with a friend who is an Adventist Christian, I saw the truth of Adventism, and am now convinced by it.

I have looked at Adventism over several years because everything about it makes sense; but I wasn’t brave enough to commit to it.  I was always looking for the hidden trap in the form of a false theology.  But I still read their books from time to time, the most influential being “The Great Controversy” by Ellen G. White, “Daniel and the Revelation” by Uriah Smith (my favourite), and “Your Bible and You” by Arthur Maxwell, each of which I read several times.  Uriah Smith is by far my favourite Adventist writer, and his commentary is amazing.  It was revised, edited, and abridged in 1944 so I don’t use that edition; instead, I prefer the pre-1944 editions because his words haven’t been messed with – I never read books which have been edited by people other than the author because, even inadvertently, he can be made to say something he never intended.

I also read plenty of other SDA publications, all of which I found edifying and none of which contained any false doctrines; but nothing came of it until my email conversations with my friend.  Those conversations were the turning point which resulted in my switch to Adventism, and all my past reading took on new life and power.

I also worked my way through the doctrines which are unique to Adventism until I was sure they didn’t oppose the Gospel or undermine the Trinity, the deity of Jesus, and other cardinal doctrines of the Faith.  However, I was troubled at first by the Investigative Judgment, but my SDA friend helped me understand it.  While still in discussion with her about it, I also watched a video which gives overwhelming Scripture support for the doctrine; and thus, all my objections and fears about Adventism fell away.  You can watch the video at:

I started this website because I believe what I write about and want to share my thoughts with those who are interested or seeking.  Adventism has multitudes of very capable scholars, pastors, and members who are well able to defend their Faith; so, it doesn’t need me.  Even so, I want to express my thoughts on Christianity as a new Adventist.

I don’t claim to know everything about everything, but I’ve been reading Christian books of every genre, especially theology and church history, for many decades, and have also studied at Morling (Baptist) Theological College, my focus being cross-cultural studies; and, most importantly, I’ve been reading the Bible constantly since I was saved.  So, I’ve picked up a lot of knowledge over a lifetime.  Hopefully, this will be reflected in my writing.

I invite you to check out my website from time to time for new articles, as I’m constantly writing and posting them.
